For schools, clinics, hospitals and administrative buildings abroad, Turkish manufacturers supply two main systems: panel-system prefabricated buildings at approximately USD 175 – 275 per m² (supply, ex-works) for semi-permanent use, and light gauge steel (LGS) buildings at approximately USD 185 – 265 per m² for the structural shell, with full turnkey finishing quoted per project for permanent buildings. A 6-classroom prefab school of about 600 m² therefore costs roughly USD 105,000 – 153,000 for the supply package, before freight, foundations and local works.
Who buys modular schools and clinics abroad?
- Ministries of education and health running school and clinic expansion programmes
- Development agencies and NGOs funding education and health infrastructure
- Mining, oil and gas, and construction companies building community facilities
- Private schools, kindergartens and private clinics needing fast openings
- Municipalities replacing damaged or overcrowded buildings
Prefab panel buildings vs light gauge steel
| Criterion | Prefab panel building | Light gauge steel building |
|---|---|---|
| Structure | Galvanized steel frame + sandwich or cement-board panels | Cold-formed galvanized C/U profiles |
| Typical floors | 1 – 2 | Several, depending on structural design |
| Lifespan | Semi-permanent | Permanent |
| Architectural freedom | Medium | High: façades, large glazing, roof forms |
| Assembly speed | Very fast | Fast |
| Relocation | Possible | Limited |
| Best for | Fast expansion, temporary schools, rural clinics | Permanent schools, hospitals, offices |
Cost per m² USD
| Building type | System | Estimated price per m², supply (USD) |
|---|---|---|
| Single-storey office / admin building | Prefab panel | 155 – 225 |
| Classroom block / kindergarten | Prefab panel | 175 – 255 |
| Health post / clinic | Prefab panel | 205 – 275 |
| Two-storey school or office | Prefab panel | 195 – 255 |
| Building shell (frame, sheathing, insulation, roof, windows) | Light gauge steel | 185 – 265 |
| Turnkey permanent building | Light gauge steel | Quoted per project |
For light gauge steel projects abroad, interior finishing, façade and MEP works are often more economical when part of the scope is executed with local contractors. We quote the factory supply separately so you can decide the best split.
Sample budgets
| Project | Approx. area | System | Estimated supply cost (USD) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Rural health post | 120 m² | Prefab | 24,600 – 33,000 |
| 4-classroom school block | 340 m² | Prefab | 59,500 – 86,700 |
| 6-classroom school | 600 m² | Prefab | 105,000 – 153,000 |
| 2-storey administrative building | 400 m² | Prefab | 78,000 – 102,000 |
| Permanent 12-classroom school shell | 1,100 m² | Light gauge steel | 203,500 – 291,500 |
Budgets cover the building supply package. Freight, import duties, foundations, site utilities, furniture and medical or educational equipment are additional.

Delivery and assembly
Prefab and light gauge steel buildings ship as flat packages, mostly in 40HC containers or by truck through our group company İnter Lojistik. Each package is numbered according to the assembly manual. A single-storey 100 m² prefab building typically takes a few working days to assemble on a ready foundation; larger schools and clinics take a few weeks.
