In 2026, the module cost of a container workforce accommodation camp manufactured in Turkey is approximately USD 670 – 960 per person, ex-works. A 100-person camp requires about 37 modules and costs roughly USD 72,000 – 96,000; a 300-person camp needs about 105 modules (USD 204,000 – 271,000); and a 500-person camp needs about 173 modules (USD 337,000 – 446,000). Freight, site preparation, utilities and furniture usually add 30 – 70% on top, depending on the destination.
What does a workforce camp include?
A workforce accommodation camp — also called a man camp, labour camp or construction camp — provides everything a project team needs to live and work at a remote site: dormitories, dining hall and kitchen, offices, sanitary blocks, laundry, clinic, security gate and often recreation areas. Konter designs, manufactures and ships the complete camp, and can supply supervisors or a full assembly crew on site.
Planning ratios used in our estimates
International projects usually accommodate the entire workforce on site and apply higher comfort standards than domestic camps. Our estimates use the following ratios:
| Item | Ratio |
|---|---|
| Dormitory | 4 persons per 21 m² module (two bunk beds) |
| Dining | 14 seats per module, meals served in 2 sittings |
| Office | 5 staff per module; office staff = 10% of workforce |
| Sanitary | 1 WC per 10 persons; each block has 4 WC + 2 urinals + 4 showers |
| Laundry | 1 module per approx. 150 residents |
| Clinic | 1 module up to 300 persons, 2 above |
| Security | 1 – 2 gate cabins |
If your project uses single or twin rooms (common for engineers and managers), the number of dormitory modules increases accordingly.

| Total | 173 | 337,050 – 446,300 |
Cost per person: approx. USD 675 – 895. Large orders also benefit from production and freight efficiencies that are not reflected in these tables, so the actual quotation for a 300 or 500-person camp is often below the ranges shown.
Site costs to add to the budget
- Freight: As monoblocks, about two modules fit on one truck, so a 100-person camp means roughly 19 truckloads. As flat-pack, the same camp ships in far fewer containers or trucks.
- Import duties and clearance: Depend on HS code and destination.
- Site preparation: Levelling, gravel, drainage and concrete pads or strip beams under module corners.
- Power: Generators or grid connection, main distribution board, external lighting.
- Water and wastewater: Water tanks, pumps, septic tanks or a package treatment plant.
- HVAC: Split air conditioners or heaters in each module, sized for the local climate.
- Furniture and kitchen equipment: Beds, lockers, dining tables, industrial kitchen, office furniture.
- Fire safety: Extinguishers, detectors, fire cabinets and emergency lighting.
- Assembly: Konter crew, supervisor with local labour, or local contractor.

| Best for | Short – medium projects | Tight sites, medium – long projects | Long projects |
How to reduce camp cost
- Choose flat-pack for long-distance freight: Freight savings usually outweigh the extra assembly time.
- Size the dining hall by sitting, not by headcount.
- Group wet areas on one axis to shorten water and sewer lines.
- Buy the whole camp under one contract to optimise production and loading.
- Plan for expansion so additional modules can be added without relocating existing ones.
- Think beyond one project: Purchased modules can be relocated to your next site, spreading the cost over several projects.
